Law enforcement agencies are running special operations against drugs throughout the country. During the operation, 14 people were killed in the country including gunfights, firing and mass robbery capital.
On Monday (28) from the midnight till Tuesday morning, three incidents in Jessore, two in Kushtia, two were killed in Comilla. Besides, one person was killed in the capital Dhaka, Barguna, Satkhira, Brahmanbaria, Narayanganj, Thakurgaon and Bhaluka.
The law enforcers said that all those killed were drug dealers. There are several cases in different police stations named.
Dhaka: A drug cartel named Mohammad Suman alias Khuqu Sumon, 35, was killed in 'gunfight' with police in the city's southern city.
The incident took place at around 12:30 pm on the south side of Ashiyan city ground.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Uttara division Nurul Alam said, on the basis of information, a team of police went on a raid on the Ashiyan City ground at night. As soon as they reached the scene, drug dealers fired at the police. Two members of the police were injured in this. Police also fired counter to self defense. At one stage the drug traders escaped. Later, the body of Khuku Sumon was found on the spot.
He said a foreign pistol, four cocktails and one thousand Yaba were recovered from the spot. The injured were sent to Tongi Hospital.
He said Sumon was a 'marked drug seller' in the area and he has four cases of drug laws in the police station.
Narayanganj: A robber named Abul Hossain Sumon alias Tower Sumon (35) was killed in a gunfight with police in Sonargaon of Narayanganj. In the early morning (May 29th), a gunfight occurred in Shantirbazar area of Bardi Union of the upazila.
Sonargaon Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Morshed Alam said a team of police on the basis of reports that a group of armed robbers is preparing to rob the Bardi peace market in Sonargaon. Police also fired counter on the police presence when police fired at the police. The robbers ran away at the police firing. Later, the police rushed to the Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex after the police saw him lying in a bullet at the scene and doctors declared him dead.
He said four policemen were injured in the incident. One shooter, one shooter, a ramada and two big bullets and robbery equipment were recovered from the spot.
He said Abul Hossain Sumon alias Tower Sumon's house in Araihazar. Against him 11 cases were filed with Sonargaon and Araihazar police stations. His body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Jessore: Two narcotics traders named Manik and Asir were killed in the firing by drug dealers in Chargera Raipara area of Jessore.
This incident happened in front of Chapra Royapara Government Primary School on Monday (May 28th) 3pm.
Besides, another person named Bauli (40) was killed in a mob robbery near Jessore-Magura highway at Anarchar Bazar. There are 14 cases filed against the main bully of the robbers.
Jessore Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector Manjurul Islam said, "In the Chaldea area two police detectives were found to be involved in the firing. Drug watchdogs escaped due to police presence. Later, two bodies were found in the spot.
He said two pistols, five rounds of shells and two packets of Yaba were recovered from the spot.
Kushtia: Two people were killed in a gunfight with police at the Shehala field of Doulatpur in Kushtia. They are Mukaddes Ali (42) and Fazlur Rahman alias Title (48). Police said both of the deceased were drug dealers.
The incident took place around 3:30 pm on Saturday at the Shehala field of Boalia union of the upazila.
Daulatpur Police Station OC (Investigation) Ajgar Ali said that Dowlatpur Police Station patrol team raided the spot at around 3:00 am after a group of drug dealers bought and sold drugs at Shehala field of Boalia union under Daulatpur upazila. Drug police fired bullets targeting the police after seeing the presence of the police. In response, the police shot two drug businessmen shot. Later, they rescued them to Daulatpur Hospital and the duty doctors declared them dead.
Police recovered a domestic gun, five rounds of bullets, a pistol magazine and 250 bottles of Phensidyl from the spot. There are eight cases of drug trade and hijacking of drug traders dead.
Satkhira: A person named Anisur Rahman was killed in alleged shootings among drug dealers in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira. The incident took place at Chitala village under Kushodanga union around 2pm on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Anuru, 30, son of Surat Ali of Pakuria village under Anisur upazila. He has 10 cases against him, police said. One of the shooters, two rounds of bullets and 70 pieces of yaba were recovered from the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Kalaroa Police Station, Biplob Kumar Nath said that the firing was going on between two groups of drug dealers in the area on drug sharing in Chitala area. Drug traders escaped notice. Later, Yaba emperor Anisur was seen lying on the spot. The doctors declared him dead when he was immediately taken to Kolaroa Health Complex. There are 10 cases against Anisur, said OC.
Brahmanbaria: A drug businessman named Joni Mia (30), who was accused in eight cases including drug and robbery in two groups of Akhaura in Brahmanbaria, was killed. P
