Seven people were killed on Friday night in a gunfight between the law enforcers on the ongoing anti-drug drive across the country. Among them, two people in Comilla, one in Joypurhat, two in Dinajpur, one in Chandpur and one in Mymensingh were killed.

All the dead were said to be drug dealers, law enforcement forces said.

Comilla

Two drug dealers, Babul (40) and Almas (35) were killed in a gunfight with police in Brahmanpara upazila of the district.

This incident happened on Friday (25th) in Bagra area of ​​the upazila. A foreign pistol with 40 kg of marijuana and one round bullet was recovered from the spot. The deceased was a resident of Asabari and Almas Uttara Uttara area under Babul upazila.

Brahmanpara Police Station OC Shahjahan Kabir said, there are eight cases against 16 against Babul and Almas.

Joypurhat

A drug dealer named Rentu was killed in a gunfight with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Vimpur area of ​​Panchbibi upazila of the district. This incident happened on Friday night.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -5 Joypurhat camp commander Shamim Hossain said that a group of RAB members raided the village of Bhimpur area after getting information that a large amount of drug was being traded. Drug vendors shot fired at RAB after getting the tip. At that time, RAB also shot a counter-attacking drug vendor. Later, a drug vendor was seen lying on the spot. The doctors declared him dead immediately after taking him to Panchbibi Upazila Health Complex.

He said Phensidyl, one gun gun and two rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.

Mymensingh

 One drug vendor named Shahjahan (30) was killed in a gunfight with members of the District Police Intelligence Unit (DB) in Mymensingh.

The incident took place in the oilwari era of Atarbari union of Godganj upazila of the district on Friday night. Shahjahan killed eight cases under the Drug Act

OC Ashikur Rahman, OC of DB Police told that the drug dealers were sharing the drug in the area at night. After getting the news, district DB and Godganj Police Station jointly conducted the drive there. At that time the drug vendors targeted brick, petals and firing police. Ishgaonj Police Station OC Badrul Alam Khan, sub-inspector (SI) Khandakar Mamun and assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mozaharul were injured in the eighteen-batch police investigation center. At one point, the drug vendors fled to the police for self defense. On the spot, Shahjahan was seen in a bullet and immediately took him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMEK) and the doctor declared him dead.

He said that 200 grams of heroin, five shells, one Ramada and a kirich were recovered from the spot. In this incident, preparing to file a case against unknown people is going on.

Dinajpur

Another drug dealer was killed in a gunfight with RAB in Birganj upazila and one in Sadar upazila's Ramsagar district.

This incident happens at 3pm on Friday. The deceased were identified as Subdarul Islam, 42, a resident of Bararganj upazila and Ramsagar Abdus Salam, 47, of Sadar upazila.

Rapid Action Battalion-13 Dinajpur Camp captain (CO) Major Talukdar Nazmuz Shakib said that RAB conducted raids after getting information about huge trafficking in Birganj. RAB also fired counter-attacks on RAB, while RAB fired counter-attacks. He was shot on the spot and shot on the spot. Later, he got a foreign pistol, four rounds of fresh shoots, a round shot of shell, two kg of marijuana and 100 bottles of Phensidyl. Two RAB members were injured in the incident.

This incident happened on Friday (May 25th) at around 3:30 pm in the Ramsagar West Deals area. The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, son of late Abdus Samad of the area.

Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Redwanur Rahim told that the two groups were shot in a drug dealer in Ramsagar area. When a patrol police arrived there, they saw that Abdus Salam was lying in bullet. In this situation, Abdus Salam was rescued by M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital and doctors declared him dead.

He said, Phensidyl, four hand bombs, a pistol and two rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.

Chandpur

Top drug vendor Bablu (35) was killed in 'gunfight' with Chandpur district police's detective branch (DB) and Kachua police.

The incident took place at Banara village under Ashrafpur Union of 10 at Kachua upazila of Chandpur on Friday night. In the meantime, 110 pc Yaba tablets were recovered from his house.

The deceased was identified as Bablu, son of Sultar Mia of the village. Five drug cases have been filed against him in Kachua Police Station, police said.

Kachua Police Station OC Syed Mahbubur Rahman said, on the basis of information, district DB and Kachua police station jointly organized Bablu's house. Babul fired at the police during this time. Babul was shot in the counter when the police fired back. He was rushed to Kachua Upazila Health Complex and declared the doctor dead.

He said the body was located at Kachua Upazila Health Complex. The body was sent to Chandpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
