During this time, the baggage-related activities of passengers traveling between Bangladesh and India were said to be in full force.
The authorities of the Hili Land Port Import-Exporting Group said that the decision to stop import-export activities for the purpose of celebrating Eid for three days has been taken. If the Saturday (June 15th) Eid, the activities will be closed till 18 June. This decision has been communicated to the Indian Exporters and Customs Clearing Association.
Meanwhile, Haily Land Customs Revenue Officer Kazi Deen Mohammad said that on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, their activities will be closed only on Eid Day. However, the baggage-related activities of the passport-carrying passengers will continue on the same day. Besides, all other customs activities including import-export will be continued with Hili land customsation in other days, he said.
Assistant Manager (operations) of Hilli land port, Ashit Sanyal, said that in keeping with the government announcement and keeping in mind the customs, all internal activities of the port will be closed only on the Eid day. All the activities of the port will continue in other days.
