Talks with Singapore on water deal again: Mahathir

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed has said that he wants to discuss a new agreement with Singapore on the water supply agreement.

He said this in an interview with Singapore's broadcast channel New Asia on Monday.

During the period from 1981 to 2003, Mahathir took the first round, while the Malaysian relationship with the little city state was a friend. This time, he came to power in quick succession to discuss relations with this small neighbor.

He said this as his latest argument, that it is an obvious untimely agreement that Malaysia sells one thousand gallons of water to its neighboring country, 3 Malaysian Centers (less than one US cent). It was right in the 1990s or 1930s. But now you can buy with 3 cents? Nothing.

In response to a question about reconciliation or reconciliation on the deal, the 92-year-old Prime Minister said, "We are reviewing the matter and making an account about it."

The Singaporean government did not comment on this statement.

The huge demand of Singapore comes from the Johor state of Malaysia. Based on the 1962 agreement, the country can take up to 250 gallons of water per day from the river Zohar.
