On the other hand, on the complaint of sabotage, the hearing of the appeal filed by Khaleda Zia against the bail granted to Khaleda Zia in another case in the same police station has been fixed on June 25 (Monday).
Appeal bench of four judges led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain gave the order after hearing the state's leave-to-appeal on Sunday (June 24th) on the bail granted to the High Court.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam was present at the court hearing in the court. Along with Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Debnath, Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, AJ Mohammad Ali and Zainul Abedin were on behalf of Khaleda Zia.
On May 31, the High Court upheld the bail granted to Khaleda Zia by up to June 24, the Appellate Division suspended the appeal. In this, the court directed the government to stay up to date. Accordingly, the prosecutor already filed regular leave to appeal. The hearing will be on Sunday.
On May 28, the High Court division bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice JBM Hasan gave bail to Khaleda Zia in the two cases. On the next day, on May 29, the chamber judge of the Chamber Justice Hassan Foyez Siddiqui suspended the bail granted to the High Court. At the same time, the Appellate Division sent a regular bench.
On 31 May, the appeal bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain adjourned the bail till June 24.
On 20 May, after the High Court's permission in two cases of Comilla, bail application was made against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Comilla Special Powers Act Suit:
On January 25, 2015 a fire on a covered van and several vandalism were reported in Chowddagram on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway's Haider Pool. In this case, the case was filed with the Chauddgarh Police Station on Jan 25 of the same year for the sabotage under Special Powers Act.
The chargesheet was filed in this case on February 14, 2017. 32 people including Khaleda Zia were accused in this case. The case is currently running in Comilla Special Tribunal-1. On 9th October, 2007 the court took the charge of the case.
Comilla murder case:
On April 2, 2015, a prototype bomb was hurled at a bus on Dhaka Chittagong Highway. In this incident, 7 passengers died and 25 or 26 were seriously injured. In the incident the next day (February 3), at around 3pm, Chowddagram Police Station SI Nuruzzaman filed a case against 56 people. Later, the chargesheet was filed in court. On April 5, Khaleda Zia was shown a case against Shoa.
