The Prime Minister said, the government has a plan to form separate courts for conducting criminal proceedings committed under this law.
He said, "According to the existing Narcotics Control Act, 1990, the maximum punishment of the drug addicts is death penalty. However, in the existing law, if there is no possession / authority / possession of a person in the possession of a person, there is less chance of legal action against him. So the Master Mind involved in the drug trade can easily get away.
The Prime Minister further said, the Narcotics Control Act-2018 is being formulated to enforce strict law against the drug syndicate including the sponsor of drug trade and godfather. Under the amended law, the Supreme Court will offer death penalty to the drug syndicate, including the sponsor of the drug business and the drug-addict of the drug.
Under the law, the head of the Directorate of Narcotics Control is being given the power to investigate the crimes related to money laundering in order to bring the sponsor / drug company under law.
