The court granted bail to BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust case on July 10. Special Judge No.5 placed in Bakshibazar of old Dhaka on Thursday (June 28th). Akhtaruzzaman gave the order.

According to the case, the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Tejgaon Police Station on Aug 8, 2010 against four people, including Khaleda Zia, for illegally transferring Tk 3,15,43,000 in the name of Zia Charitable Trust.
On January 16, 2012, the investigation officer of the case, ACC deputy director Harun-ur-Rashid submitted charge sheet against the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and four others. Judge Basudeb Roy of Dhaka's third Special Judge's Court formed a charge against the accused on March 19, 2014.
On February 8, the judge of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-5 gave death sentence to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
