Bangladesh Army's BA-2424 Lieutenant General Aziz Ahmed has been appointed as the new army chief.

He has been the Grade-1 Staff Officer of GSO 3 (Operation), Brigade Major of the Infantry Brigade, Grade-2 of Army Training Directorate and Army Staff, Salary and Allowance Department in Chittagong Hill Tracts. He is commanding an artillery unit, a BGB battalion, a sector of BGB, two army brigades, and one infantry division, with the command of the independent Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
